Straight Asphalt

Straight asphalt is a bituminous substance obtained by removing light components through the application of crude oil to atmospheric and vacuum distillation units.
It is mainly used as a binder for paving mixtures.
The quality of straight asphalt is specified in JIS K2207 (see the table below), and we always store two types of straight asphalt, 60-80 and 80-100, which are the most in demand for road pavements. They are stored at the asphalt terminals ready for shipment.
We store straight asphalt 150-200 at selected oil terminals and it is also ready for shipment.

  • ・Meets new asphalt specification for reclaimed asphalt standards (Reclaimed Pavement Handbook 2010 Edition)
  • ・It contains rejuvenators to restore the penetration level etc. in the old asphalt in reclaimed aggregate
  • ・It is premix type product thus eliminates the process to add rejuvenators.
  • ・The storage temperature, storage duration and the handling could be managed under similar conditions to straight asphalt
【Application】
  • ・The recommended reclaimed aggregate mixing ratio in recycled dense graded mixture (13mm for top size) for general use (reclaimed asphalt 40-60) is SA100-120 (30 to 60%), SA120-150 (45 to 65%), SA150-200 (55 to 75%), and SA200-300 (70 to 85%)
  • ・For snowy and colder regions (reclaimed asphalt 60 to 80) is SA100-120 (15-30%), SA120-150 (25-45%), SA150-200 (40-55%), SA200-300 (55-70%)
